AFL
AFL was formed on November 28, 1984, by Alcoa Securities Corporation (ASC) – a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Aluminum Company of America (ALCOA) – and Fujikura Ltd. – a corporation organized and existing under the laws of Japan. AFL was created in order to manufacture fiber optic ground wire (entrance cables for sale to the public utility industry) at its Duncan, SC, facility. In 2005, Fujikura assumed 100% ownership of AFL and moved AFL headquarters to Duncan, SC.
