For optimum use, the splice protection press should be mounted with the opening pointing upwards in the vicinity of the fusion device of the fibre-optic splicing unit.
It can be mounted on the splicing unit directly by means of stud bolts or adapter plates. To operate the splice protection press, place the splice protection in the press, place the spliced optical fibre with both hands in the V-grooves and press the thumbs on the clamping jaws to close the splice protection.
